If hospice care is provided in the home and falls under routine services, the cost ranges from $150 to $200 per day. For more intensive needs and care throughout acute medical crises, the costs can be significantly higher, averaging around $1,500 per day.
At a facility, for typical in-patient hospice care, the average daily cost is around $1,000, but if only respite care is required in a facility setting to relieve family caregivers, the cost is about $500 per day.
